FLV to MP3 Tool
About The FLV Format
The FLV (aka Flash Video) format is a container format developed by Adobe (formerly know as Macromedia) for delivering video over the internet using it’s other creation called Flash Player. It typically contains video encoded with Sorenson Spark, VP6, or later H.264. The audio typically encoded with MP3 or AAC formats. FLV files are lightweight and designed for efficient streaming. This made them very popular for online video way before HTML5 was widely used. Today, FLV is largely considered deprecated and almost entirely replaced by MP4 and modern streaming protocols.
About The MP3 Format
The MP3 format also known by it’s long name, MPEG-1 Audio Layer III is a lossy audio compression standard developed in the early 1990s by the Fraunhofer Society. It reduces the file size by discarding audio data that is less perceptible to the human ear while maintaining a reasonable sound quality. MP3 supports bitrates ranging from 32 kbps to 320 kbps, with higher bitrates offering better quality at the cost of larger file sizes. Over the years it became the most widely used audio format for music distribution and playback, however newer codecs are out there now that offer better efficiency.
